Frequently Asked Questions

Our clinicians review your symptoms, ask targeted questions, and may request photos of the eye through the secure chat. This is usually enough to determine the cause and appropriate treatment.

Not always. Most cases of pink eye are viral and resolve on their own. Bacterial conjunctivitis may require antibiotic drops. Our clinicians prescribe based on your specific presentation.

If you have severe pain, light sensitivity, vision changes, or recent eye surgery or injury, we will refer you for in-person care. Most pink eye does not require this.

Viral and bacterial conjunctivitis are contagious. Allergic conjunctivitis is not. Our clinicians will give you guidance on isolation and prevention based on the type.
